Fernando Ruiz Comán

Chemical Technician graduated from E.E.S.T N°4: “Dr. E. Longobardi” by Avellaneda (2016). Since 2015 he had decided to study Materials Engineering at the Instituto Sabato. For this, he studied two and a half years of Chemical Engineering at the University of Buenos Aires (2017-2019). Finally, he entered the Instituto Sabato in August 2019 and after the first semester he completed his internship in February in this group under the direction of Lic. Santiago Poklepovich Caride where he gave him all his knowledge about the synthesis of Au nanoparticles and the LSRP effect. In February 2022, after two years of virtual study, he returned to the group to carry out his second internship with Lic. Poklepovich Caride. At this stage, with more training and close to finishing his degree, it helped him learn other things outside of science and related to the synthesis of Au nanoparticles and helped him decide where to do his final work. One of the subjects that interested him the most during his degree was material degradation, where he learned about the damage caused by corrosion phenomena and also learned about the different types of corrosion that exist. In January 2023, he began his final project in Materials Engineering under the direction of Drs. Paula Angelome and Andrea Bordoni. His work consists of making mesoporous films on metallic substrates with the idea of using them as corrosion protectors. In turn, he is working on making mesoporous thin films using the Spray method.
