María Jazmín Penelas

Licenciate in Chemical Sciences from the Facultad de Ciencias Exactas y Naturales, UBA (2013). As a university student, she did research in organic synthesis in the area of Medicinal Chemistry in the Department of Organic Chemistry, UBA (2010-2011). She performed tasks of Instrumentals Services in UMYMFOR, FCEN- CONICET (2011-2013) and as a chemical laboratory Technician in the development and production of biological indicators for sterilization control (KIMS SRL, 2006). She was teaching assistant in Organic Chemistry at the Ingeniery School of the Universidad Nacional del Oeste (2013-2016), in the Department of Organic Chemistry, FCEN, UBA (2011-2013) and worked as a teacher of Physicochemical and Analytical Chemistry Laboratory in public and private high schools (2011-2012). In 2012, she was expert external consultant in Natural Sciences and ICT in the teacher training plan Escuelas de Innovación to Conectar igualdad, ANSeS and OEI. Currently, she is PhD student at UBA with a scholarship granted by CONICET, with Dr. Galo Soler-Illia as research advisor. Her work consists in the development of a platform of hybrid organic-inorganic materials based on polyfunctional silica colloids with application in nanostructured coatings of surfaces and nanocomposites of industrial interest. She also works as teaching assistant in Chemistry at the Universidad Nacional de San Martín.
